There are probably worse things to get phone calls about.
However ones from the police station which involve words such as "child" and "car accident" are pretty bad. Especially when the child involved your fifteen year old ward.
Which is exactly the sort of phone call Andrew got on Saturday evening.

"Mr. Ryan?" he asks.

As he finishes saying this, Alec is brought up to the front. He looks a bit battered but nothing bad.
When he sees Andrew, however, his face goes pale.

The way he said Alec's full name alone should have made Alec even more uncomfortable.
no subject
He just wilts.
"Sir?"
no subject
His tone was somewhere between angry and sarcastic, the worst possible tone for him to take.
no subject
Which doesn't at all explain anything. Especially since he's never mentioned any girl or interest in any girl before.
In the meantime his look of misery just keeps on growing.

He's not going to discuss the fact that Alec hasn't displayed any interest in women in front of the police. That would be unkind and unnecessary. However, from his raised eyebrow, it's obvious what he thinks.
"Go on."
no subject
"And um... we were talking and I mentioned the car and she wanted to see the car and um...she was very pretty... um."
no subject
Maybe stealing is a harsh way to put it, but he's not exactly happy at the moment. Far from it.
no subject
The flailing is very evident here, even if it's not happening physically.
no subject
Andrew is probably giving Alec a more thorough talking to than the police did, in all truth.
no subject
Which is expected from the guardian.
"I... ah..." Alec's really got no good response to that.

He folds his arms, clearly waiting.

"I... I..."
no subject
There will be no argument, no slipping out of this. This is the consequence one receives when one manages to ruin a car and get hauled in by the police.

It's not very eloquent, and Alec's stuttering a bit, which shows how nervous he is.
"I won't do it again and and... I'll work it off and um.. I ... please... I'm sorry..."
no subject
He nodded brusquely at them.
