little_trovenAlec had joined Andrew at his office after school and had been working quietly on his homework. He'd been with the man for a little over a year now and this had become part of the school day routine. After all Andrew wasn't going to leave his office and work to watch over him at home, and he could do his homework here just as easily as he could do it there.
He'd slipped out of the room to go to the bathroom a few minutes before and now his voice was heard coming back. It was excited and animated, discussing the Minotaur myth - Alec had discovered Greek Mythology which fed his monster obsession quite nicely - with someone. He'd also discovered Alexander the Great at the same time and so had, in that way he did, completely replaced all the Greek Heroes with Alexander the Great. Which is why Alexander the Great was the one who was in the labyrinth searching for the monster.
The odd thing about the conversation was that he was speaking in English and broken Russian. He'd never spoken Russian before, though he had admitted knowing a little.
The door opened and Alec walked in leading an older man. The man's hair was white and his eyes bright blue. He was old enough that his skin looked like it was papered on to the man's body. Dressed in clothing similar to that of the Old Country, he was listening to the boy quite intently. The sort of intentness that came from having known the child for several years as opposed to some random stranger Alec had accosted in the office.
"And this is Andrew Ryan, he's really nice and has been letting me live with him since dad and Wolf died," Alec said as he completely entered the room. The sentence, again, was in the broken Russian and English.
In perfect Russian, the man said, "A pleasure to meet you, I am Lukas Salnikov, Sasha's godfather. I apologize for taking so long to come here."
