First Meetings of Dooom

Guide might start getting sick of these red heads. First there was the one with the cat, then there was the twin who had his own issues and now there's a small girl child carrying a doll bouncing into the Sickbay with the same exact hair and eye color as the twins. She looks around thoughtfully with her hands on her hips before being followed in by Trever.

When she spots Guide she runs over to him with her eyes wide in amazement. He is the COOLEST thing ever. "HI! My name is Ceilidh McCallum! And this is Princess Stabbity!" She shows him her doll, which is a princess doll dressed in a pink dress with a tiara on her head and... unusually for a little girl's toy - but Guide wouldn't know this - she has a bloody sword on one hand and is coated in fake blood. "Trever said I should talk to you about getting my shots and he said that they didn't really feel like getting a shot because there wasn't any needles but I don't know if I like that because I get ice cream if I get a shot and don't make a fuss about it and if there's no needle then there's nothing to make a fuss about it and then I won't get an ice cream."

That is said in almost one breath.

"I am not much for parties, I'm afraid." The scan is quickly over, and showed nothing worrisome. That was good.

"I feel I must correct you, young lady. My kind has nothing in common with any marine lifeforms." He turns away from the bed, going to fetch the hypo, loading a vial of the vaccine into it as he returns. "Insects, on the other hand..."

Oh no. No more party hats. He's had quite enough of those, thank you.

Apparently the idea of him being an insect is an exciting one. "With the risk of disappointing you, I only have two legs. But, my kind are said to have evolved from an insect called the Iratus, that still exist in places in the galaxy I come from. Though not poisonous as such, it is most definitely a predatory creature." He added that last pert because that seems to be the kind of thing she finds interesting, and it can help to keep her mind off the coming injection, lest she starts thinking it might hurt after all and starts fussing about it.

"Roll up your sleeve and give me your arm, please."

The painting of nails, or in his case claws, he could have potentially put up with. It is something commonly done among his people.

"We shall see what is left after your injection." Though he doesn't see any harm in indulging her.

He takes her arm and places the injector against the inside of her forearm, keeping her distracted by talking as he proceeds with the vaccination. "They are about the length of my hand, winged, and with a long, segmented tail. They ambush their prey and bites down on their throat while wrapping its trail around the person's throat. Once this has happened, the death of the victim is assured. When an Iratus has attached itself, it cannot be removed."

They are most welcome. If the Wraith ever gets to witness this, he will laugh.

"There has been treatments, or rather experiments, with rewriting human DNA with Iratus DNA. But with the very mixed results, I would not suggest it." But enabling an already wild imagination? Oh yes.

He releases her arm and lean back. "Vaccination complete."

"That would indeed be unfortunate."

Since she didn't forget, he'll indulge. The doll gets whatever was left in the vial to the chest.

He doesn't move away quickly enough to avoid that hug, and it would be a shame to be rude and push her away. So he endures it, or actually he doesn't mind terribly, giving her a pat on the back. "You are quite welcome." But he's still not going to come to any tea parties.
