The Blind Date
Trever didn't quite know who to blame for this one. Well, he knew that Brenton suggested it and then when he brought it up to his brother, Kale agreed with it. Since Kale agreed with it, he knew it was a bad idea right off the bat. The fact that the phrase 'you need to get laid,' was in the conversation didn't help matters.
It wasn't like Kale had a boyfriend currently or anything. His twin needed to get laid as much as he did. Maybe he'd see about setting up Kale for a blind date.
Still, it didn't seem like it'd be any harm. She sounded like a nice girl... woman.
This is why he was waiting outside Jerry's Deli with his hands in his pockets watching the evening crowd mill in and out of the restaurant looking for Caoimhe.
With any luck he wasn't going to be stood up.

She gives him a questioning look and a smile as she walks through the door. It's odd, the sensation that the answer is right there, tickling the edges of her mind so to speak. But she's got her abilities relatively under control and if she weren't so angry with the gods at the moment she would be sending up a silent thank you to them for that small favor.

He has the supreme urge to start babbling uncontrollably, but is managing not to. Be glad! Over and over in his mind, he keeps on trying to figure out where this itching feeling is coming from.

Mild curiosity as she tries to keep herself grounded and not burst into some overly emotional display that will gain her nothing. She can feel things slip away, knowledge about everyday things in this world that never belonged to her. Oh, this is going to get rough.

In fact there is a black cat on the chair. The cat looks up at Caoimhe with large yellow eyes as if judging if she's good enough for her human.
Trever sighs.

I was good enough to be his wife, once.
A silent message sent with undertones of respect, but no intention of backing down ever.
I like that icon!
"I'm sorry," he apologizes as he sits. His fingers tap on the table. "Have we met before? I have this nagging feeling that we've met before."
So so I!
And she actually gives the cat a look of gratitude. She hasn't been around to do it after all.
Trever's question leaves her at a loss for words. What to say? He obviously doesn't remember, and she has a feeling that he is a true reincarnation and not a strange anomaly like herself.
"Not..." In this life? Can she say that?
"No."

His finger tapping gets worse and then his language shifts to something very old and familiar. "Are you sure? You're very familiar."
Obviously some parts of him remember, if not consciously yet. He doesn't seem to realize the switch.

Her eyes widen in shock and her mouth goes dry.
"Tuathal?"
It's just a disbelieving whisper.
no subject
When she calls him Tuathal, he gives her a bit of a confused look.
"Yes?"
no subject
"How do you know that name?"

He's going to have a major headache later. And then bitch at some people. Possibly his "aunt". As he's getting a series of duel memories now, fighting for if not dominance, head space.

She can sense the struggle within him, and so she holds back, not wanting to make the press of new memories worse by saying too much too fast.

She was taken, after all. She knows nothing of his life after her disappearance, or of any reincarnations after it.
"But... you did know me once. A long time ago."
no subject
He's not upset or anything. More like annoyed at life and the gods in general. And some gods in specific.

"I don't belong here. Probability is rather out the window."

"Yes. Oh yes."

"Great. Someone up there really hates us."
