The Julliard School library was perhaps not the best stocked when it came to fiction - and science fiction books in general - but there was a small selection of them. Alec had come rummaging through them looking for some of the older books that were harder to find in bookstores. Actually he'd come rummaging for a rather special book. How it ended up in the Julliard library, he didn't know. But he'd been asked to find it since he was attending the "damn" school.
It wasn't his fault he liked music a bit more than his other studies and it wasn't as if he didn't neglect them. But it was nice to be out and about away from the family and among normal people. Besides, someone had to keep abreast of things that were happening in the mortal realm.
The problem was... he couldn't find the thing.
"How hard is it to find a damn book in this place," he muttered to himself. "And considering how weird it's supposed to look, it should be pretty damn easy."

Except for one particular book he found tucked back behind several others. As if it had been placed there and then forgotten. It was on the highest shelf and he'd only noticed it because the books had appeared uneven and when he'd tried to straighten them, push them back into place, it seemed odd they wouldn't move. He knew the shelf was deeper than that.
It was a strange looking book, not something he expected to find here, and he didn't hesitate to walk off with it in hand, studying the cover and flipping through the pages. It was the perfect book to take back to his apartment he decided, heading back through the archway to the main hallway.

Which is when he spotted Sebastian walking out with the damn thing.
Apparently someone did want it.
Damn.
He knew the guy... knew the guy... what was his name.... Alec trotted after him and called out, "Hey!" A bit louder than was appropriate in a library earning him some glares. Which he ignored.

He stopped at the sound of his shoes scuffing against something that didn't feel or sound like hardwood. It crunched a bit and shifted beneath his weight. The light that had made the entire library feel warm and comfortable had become muted and cold. Like the breeze that ruffled his hair. If he could call it a breeze.
"Hello?"

With a leap, he hurled himself through the sliver of doorway left and went tumbling hard onto the ground.
"Ow. Fuck..."

"What the hell is going on!?"

Then he added. "Well... I could say you're suffering from a very interesting hallucination. Would you believe that one?"
How is he going to explain this one to the others.
How is he going to explain this one to the others without getting into serious amounts of trouble?
